Helen Ruth (Fires) White, 80 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 peacefully at her home. She was born March 30, 1938 in Texas to parents Nellie Z. “Lois” (Eldred) Fires and Robert Haywood Fires. Helen attended Grove Public School near Davis, Oklahoma. She enjoyed reading and fishing. Helen owned and operated the “In & Out Package Store” aka “The Purple Liquor Store” in Seminole for over 50 years. Survivors include two daughters, Sabra Anderson and her husband Don Anderson of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Kelly Robertson and her husband Russell John Roberson of Arcadia, Oklahoma; one brother, Simon Fires of Sulphur, Oklahoma; one sister, Pansy Dooley of Sulphur, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Corey Terney, Tristen Castle Robertson, Caymen Robertson, Kendal Robertson and Sharkara Lincoln; four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Terney, Kealey Terney, Coutney Terney and Zayne Lincoln; Helen is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Lois and Robert Fires, by her husband Jack William White who died January 31, 1979. She was also preceded in death by one son, Danny Mitchell Keller, by one brother, Butch Fires, by four sisters, Joy Baker, Stella Hays, Barbara Brown and Robbie Stidham. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel located at 1001 N. Milt Phillips Ave. in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Don Anderson, Cayman Robertson, Corey Terney, Roger Mills and Garold Lindsey. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
