Helen “Marie” (Hyatt) Brazell, age 84 and long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Ed George will officiate. Pallbearers are Richard Brazell, Ryan Brazell, Shelby Bottero, Dillon Thomas, Ron Lunsford, and Gary Freeman. Honorary Pallbearer is James Brazell. Marie was born on February 24, 1926 in Francis, Oklahoma, to Richard Williams and Dollie (Allgood) Williams. She married Billy Brazell on February 1, 1945 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She lived in the Konawa area for most of her life, and she loved making quilts, enjoyed music and dancing, and was an expert at the game, Wahoo. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was adored by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by three sons, Joe Brazell and wife, Marylin of Mustang, Oklahoma, Ralph Brazell and wife, Julie of Moore, Oklahoma, and Monty Brazell and wife, Opal of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; two daughters, Janice Mooneyham and husband, Johnny of Purcell, Oklahoma, and Glenda Lunsford and husband, Ron of Konawa, Oklahoma; four step-children; fifteen grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dollie Williams; two sisters; six brothers; her husband, Billy Brazell; two sons, Cliff and Wayne Brazell; two grandsons, Billy John and Michael Brazell; and two great grandsons.
