Harold Jones

Harold Raymond Jones, 80 year old Prague, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Sunday, March 19, 2017 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.  He was born February 21, 1937 in Greenwood, Arkansas to parents Carl Hobart Jones and Ora (Griffith) Jones. Following high school Harold went on to join the United States Navy.  While serving in the Navy Harold was a sheet-metal worker who built and repaired ships and boats. He also earned the good conduct medal while in the Navy. On February 4, 1994 Harold married Patsy “Diane” (Estep) Jones in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Harold retired as a union sheet metal worker and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 23 years Patsy “Diane” Jones of the home; three sons, Bobby Haynes and his wife Lee of Yukon, Oklahoma, Donald “Donny” Haynes and his wife Rhonda of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Chris Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three step-sons, Floyd Brown of Prague, Oklahoma, Mike Price of Stroud, Oklahoma, and  John Thomas Brown and his wife Janis of Seminole, Oklahoma; two brothers, Bobby Jones of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Clifton Jones and his wife Afton of eastern, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Hobart Jones and Ora (Griffith) Jones, by one daughter Sandy Banta who died in November of 2016, by one sister Betty Musgrove, and by one niece Carol Norris. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors.  Rev. Randall Miller will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Tyler Haynes, Donny Haynes, Jr. Brown, Brandon Price, T.J. Brown, and Tim Brown. Honorary Bearers will be: Kayona Haynes, Brandon Banta, and Britt Banta. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
