Harold L. Dickerson, age 94, went to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on the 26th of September, 2017 at home surrounded by his family and care giver. Harold was born on 11th of April, 1923 in Stroud Oklahoma and was the son of the late Louise Dickerson. Harold grew up in and around Shamrock Oklahoma in the early days of the great oil field towns and was the only child of Louise. He was always considered to be an inquisitive child and often was involved in several interesting activities in his early days. He delivered newspapers at an early age and managed to wear out three bicycles in those years as he had to ride so far each day to make deliveries. He always had time to hang out with his friends and since this was the beginnings of commercial automobiles, he found several jobs in high school fixing old model T's due to his natural talent in figuring out mechanical things. In 1945, he joined the Army Air Corp, upon graduation out of the Spartan Aeronautical School in Tulsa Oklahoma. He was a Sergeant in the Eighth Air Force and was a navigator on the B37's flying over England during the Second World War. After the end of World War II, he returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma and met and married Amye Akins in the summer of 1946. They were married 71 years and lived in St. Louis, Oklahoma for most of that time. Harold went to work for Sinclair Oil Company in St. Louis and worked there till the 70's at which time he was transferred to the Sinclair Plant in Seminole (Atlantic Richfield). He retired in his early sixties but continued his Dick's Appliance Service which he had started as a part-time job back in the early 60s'. Many people in the Seminole area knew Harold as he did most of the appliance repair service in that area for both Bodkin Furniture Store and Curry- Hardin. He had a great love for motorcycles and cars and in his early years repaired Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also led one of the first Boy Scout troops in St. Louis and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Harold enjoyed helping folks and always was there to give a hand to anyone who needed it. Harold is survived by his daughter, Deborah Thompson, Edmond Oklahoma and one grandchild, Lynnsey Vickers of Colorado Springs, Colorado. His wife Amye, and his son Harold pre-deceased him.
