Winifred Helen "Gwen" (Sims) Barrett, 89 year-old former Seminole resident passed from this life Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Ranch Terrace Nursing Home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was born November 7, 1917 in Norge, Oklahoma to parents Charley Lewis Sims and Dolly Edith (Wheeler) Sims.rnrnMrs. Barrett married her husband Theodore William Barrett on November 18, 1933 in Duncan, Oklahoma. The Barretts lived in Seminole County from 1934 to 1959 and moved to Sapulpa in 1962. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a cook at both Varnum and Twin Oaks Schools.rnrnGwen was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Shawnee.rnrnGwen leaves to cherish her memory daughters and sons-in-laws: Erma June & "Sug" Hale of Las Animas, Colorado; Doris Helen Freeman of East Point, Michigan; Patricia Ann & Larry Neer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Starla Kay & Marlin Southerland of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.rnrnOne son and daughter-in-law, Teddy Mitchell & Sonya Barrett of Littleton, Colorado.rnrnOne son-in-law, Doyle Reeves of Dallas, Texas.rnrnThree brothers and a sister-in-law: Dan Sims of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Tony Sims of Penticton, British Columbia and Wesley & "Vi" Sims of Shawnee, Oklahoma.rnrnOne sister and a brother-in-law, Jacqueline & Bill Farris of Newalla, Oklahoma.rnrnOne sister-in-law, Sena Sims of Tulsa, Oklahoma.rnrn13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.rnrnGwen was preceded in death by her parents, Charley Lewis Sims & Dolly Edith (Wheeler) Sims; her husband Theodore William Barrett; one daughter Bobbie Jean Reeves; and four brothers Charlie Brady Sims, Eldon Sims, Tom Sims and Bobby Sims.rnrnGraveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
