Guy Basque

Guy Paul Basque, 48 year-old, Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed from this life Thursday, December 31, 2009 at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma.  He was born April 14, 1961 in Hilo, Hawaii to parents Richard Basque, Sr. and Marlene (Tavares) Basque. Guy worked as a truck driver and had moved to Seminole from Mesquite, Texas two and a half months ago.  He was of the Catholic faith. Guy married Alice Bernadette Mercado in 1993 in Keaau, Hawaii. Survivors include his wife of the home, Alice Basque; two sons and daughters-in-law, Louis and Jessica Basque of Balch Springs, Texas and Nicholas and his wife Tonya Basque of Balch Springs, Texas; his father, Richard Basque, Sr. of Yukon, Oklahoma; mother and step-father, Marleen and Leon Isaac of Mustang, Oklahoma; two step-daughters and a son-in-law, Kathlynn “Trini” and her husband Andrew Birney of Tyler, Texas and Alicia Mercado of Hawaii; step-son, Curtis Schweitcer of the home; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Jennifer Basque of Seminole, Oklahoma and Clifford and his wife Merri Basque of Yukon, Oklahoma; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah and John Mercado of Hawaii and Kathleen and Adam Martin of Yukon, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends. Guy was preceded in death by one step-grandson, Enrique Schweitcer. The family will be receiving friends at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
