Guss Andrew Williams, age 92 and a resident of Wewoka, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Oklahoma Veteran’s Center in Sulphur, Oklahoma. A service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Viewing will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Guss was born January 27, 1925 in Wewoka to Dolly (Wakkie) and Walter Williams. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII from 1943 until 1946. He served with the 634th Ord. Ammunition Company, and he was a riffle marksman. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Guss was a tool pusher for Parker Drilling for over thirty years, and he loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Akerman of the home and Dawna Tolle of Noble, Oklahoma; one sister, Amanda Grant of Ada, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two spouses, Helen and Peggy; three brothers, James, Frazier, and Clarence Williams.
