Grant "Dink" Stanley Grady passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 81.rnrnHe was born January 17, 1927 in Konawa, OK to Hubert & Delpha (Smith) Grady.rnrnGrant was raised in the Summers Chapel area outside of Konawa.rnrnHe enlisted in the US Army and serviced his country in the 82nd Airborne during World War II.rnrnGrant married Paula (Monroe) and they were married for over 30 years. She preceded him in death in 1994.rnrnGrant was a longtime Midwest City resident before moving to Stigler, OK to live with his sister, Dorothy.rnrnHe was as a carpenter for many years.rnrnGrant is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Kymn & Donna Converse of Grove, OK, Randy & Cindy Grady of Choctaw, Stan & Teresa Grady of Edmond and Kevyn Whitely of Atlanta, GA;rnone sister, Dorothy Mae Blevins of Stigler; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.rnrnHe was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Deborah Yvonne Grady; one son, Davyd Whitely; one sister, Johnnie Mae Weldon and one brother, Joseph Smith.rnrnFuneral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Rev. John Basden officiating.rnrnServing as casket bearers will be Kymn Converse, Randy Grady, Kevyn Whitely, Chris Converse, Chad Converse and Chas Grady.rnrnBurial will follow at Konawa Cemetery.rnrnThe family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa, Funeral Information: May 16, 2008, 2:00 AM
