Grace Marie Hall, 84, longtime Seminole County resident died Saturday, October 2, 2009 at Seminole Care and Rehabilitation Center in Seminole. Mrs. Hall was born March 21, 1925 to Dick and Alice McGirt in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. Mrs. Hall married Robert L. Hall on March 22, 1967 in Phoenix, Ariz. Mrs. Hall worked in several job capacities during her lifetime from The Douglas Aircraft Plant during World War II to cooking and cleaning of homes and even construction work from time to time. She was a very hard working person. Mrs. Hall was very active in the politics of the Seminole Nation. She was very vocal in tribal politics. She was a proud member of The Seminole Nation and severed as Band Chairman for the Newcomer Band. Her care and concern for her tribal members was well known amongst tribal members. She loved her garden and was a very stern person with her decisions and a very private person. Mrs. Hall was also a member of Little Quarsarty Baptist Church in Cromwell, Oklahoma. Her son, Anthony Hall of the home in Maud, Oklahoma, and one Sister Minnie Tsinhnahjinnie of Phoenix, Arizonia, survives her. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive her. Her parents, a brother Jimmy McGirt, and a Sister Janie McGirt precede her in death. Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Achena Presbyterian Church, Southeast of Maud, and Oklahoma. Burial will take place at the McGirt family cemetery. There will be a wake service on Monday, October 5, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel from 6-7:30 P.M. Mrs. Hall will be taken to the Achena Church Tuesday Morning at 8:30 A.M.
