Gordon Ewing Bunch, age 89, of Konawa, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada.rnrnHe was born on May 19, 1918 in Deming, New Mexico to Claude Bunch and Edna (Horne) Burnham. rnrnGordon served in the US Navy Seabees 73rd Battalion during World War II. He spent three years in the South Pacific.rnrnGordon married Lela O. Vickers on February 20, 1948 in Texas and she preceded him in death on June 28, 1984.rnrnHe worked as a mechanic in the oilfield.rnrnHe is survived by two daughters, Judith Blackburn and her husband Rex of Ada and Lea Hoyle and her husband Bob of Konawa; one sister, June Blalock of East Helena, Montana and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. rnrnGordon was also preceded in death by his parents.rnrnA private memorial service will be held at the family's home at a later date. rnrnArrangements are being handled by Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
