Glenda Marie Marquis Coots

Glenda Marie (Marquis) Coots, 78 year-old lifelong Seminole County resident passed from this life Monday, April 16, 2012 at her home in Seminole.  She was born August 13, 1933 in Seminole County, Oklahoma to parents Jesse Robert Marquis and Eunice Marquis. Glenda worked for the John Deere Tractor Company as an I.B.M. and a Key Punch operator where she retired in 1986.  She was also a member of the Seminole First Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Curtis of Falls of Rough, Kentucky, Patricia Bedford of Seminole, Oklahoma and Karen Giuffre and spouse, Wilbur Johnson of Seminole, Oklahoma; two brothers, Billy Marquis of Big Springs, Texas and Bobby Marquis of Cromwell, Oklahoma; three sisters, Ferrell Martin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Reba Duncan of Norman, Oklahoma and Claudett Brock of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren, Michael Saxon, Susan Saxon, Shelly Berning, Marc Upchurch, Bryan Baver, Eric Bedford who preceded her in death, Greg Giuffre, Jennifer Giuffre and Jeff Giuffre; 19 great-grandchildren and one great- great grandchild; she is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and by one grandson, Eric Bedford. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole located at 420 Reid Street.  Pastor Marvin Kehl will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Bryan Bauer, Wilbur Johnson, Todd Upchurch, Greg Giuffre, Eddie Upchurch and Manuel Arambula. Honorary bearers will be: Michael Saxon, Jeff Giuffre and Scott Berning, II. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
