Glenda Gail (Meashintubby) Carpitcher , age 69 and a longtime resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully from this life on May 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A wake service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2023 at the Pentecostal Church of God Indian Mission Church in Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30th at the church, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  John Campbell and Herschel Davis will officiate.  Casket bearers are Caleb Tebe, Malachi Tebe, Elijah Tebe, Chad Cloud, Steven Tebe, and Cornelius Crawford.  Honorary bearers are Ron Lunsford, Kenneth Meashintubby, Dean Walker, Kenneth Bogle, and Benjamin Carpitcher.  The family will receive guests Sunday, May 28th at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Glenda will be taken to the church Monday at 4:00 p.m. for the wake service.

Glenda was born November 11, 1953 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Joseph Meashintubby and Nellie Jane (Killer) Meashintubby.  She graduated from Eufaula Boarding School, and received an Associate degree from Haskell Jr. College and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for forty years.  Glenda married Arthur Wayne Carpitcher April 28, 1973 in Konawa.  She and Arthur were the pastors of the Pentecostal Church of God Indian Mission in Konawa for twenty-seven years.  She was a worship leader and a Sunday School teacher.  She loved to shop and celebrate any special occasion for all her friends and family.  She also loved to watch romance movies on the Hallmark Channel.

She is survived by one son, Ricky Carpitcher and wife, Andrea of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; two daughters, Rachel Tebe and husband, Steven of Konawa, and Rebecca Bogle and husband, Kenneth of Webb City, Missouri; four brothers, Kenneth Meashintubby and wife, Oreatha of Ada, Oklahoma, Jimmy Meashintubby, Gerald Meashintubby, and Darall Meashintubby; one sister, Vicky Pettigrew and husband, Wendell of Ada;  eleven grandchildren, Caleb, Malachi, Elijah, and Chloe Tebe, Lydia Bogle, Zachery Miller, and Isaiah, Elijah, Benjamin, Kirsten, and Jasmine Carpitcher; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a church congregation who will miss her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arthur Carpitcher on December 9, 2020; one sister, Lynda Simmer; three brothers, Robert, Douglas, and Matthew Meashintubby; and two grandchildren.
