Glen Hughey

Walter "Glen" Hughey, former Seminole resident, entered eternal life on Friday, January 18, 2013 in Prague, Oklahoma at the age of 90.  Glen was born December 18, 1922 in Chesnee, South Carolina to Wofford S. and Lala (Ezell) Hughey. On May 31, 1947, Glen married Clevia Campbell in South Carolina; she preceded him in death on December 26, 2008.  They made their home in South Carolina until both retired, at which time they moved to Seminole, Oklahoma.  Glen graduated from Cumberland University and Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina where he received his master’s degree.  Glen retired from Anderson University where he taught math and served as Registrar and Director of Admissions. Glen is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Walter K. and Lyn Hughey of Prague, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mark Key of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one brother, Bobby L. Hughey and his wife Ruth of Greenville, South Carolina; three sisters, Wilma Hodges of Easley, South Carolina, Doris Talley of Greer, South Carolina, and Jean Forrester and her husband Othell of Greer, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Bethany Ortiz and husband Josh of Lenexa, Kansas, Jonathan Key of Edmond, Oklahoma, Brittany Key of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Dwayne Hollingsworth of Greenville, South Carolina, Jeremy Hughey and wife Nicole of Newalla, Oklahoma, Jason Hughey and wife Angie of Stroud, Oklahoma, and Kevin Hughey and wife Bridget of Chandler, Oklahoma ; fourteen great grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends. Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Wofford and Lala Hughey; his wife, Clevia Hughey; a daughter, Adria Boumpous; five brothers, J.D. Hughey, Claude S. Hughey, Dwight Hughey, Jack R. Hughey and K. Pat Hughey. A graveside memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma.  In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
