Gladys Jo “Tootie” Brinsfield, 85, longtime Seminole resident died Monday, August 11, 2014 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Gladys was born August 5, 1929 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Ruth Esther (White) and Luther F. Lee. Gladys was a lifelong Seminole county resident, a member of the Living Word Fellowship Church and retired from Blue Bell/Wrangler in 1994 as a Quality Control specialist. She was known by her nieces and nephews as “Aunt Tootie”. She loved having her family around her, eating breakfast on Saturday mornings at the Bus Station and shopping. She married Bill Brinsfield on April 6, 1947 in Letha, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on December 26, 1994. She is survived by her son Frank Brinsfield and his wife Janice of Spring, Texas and her daughter Judy Jones and her husband Jerry of Seminole, Oklahoma; her sister Freda Stephens of Guymon, Oklahoma and her eight grandchildren; Sheila Kinard, Billy Brinsfield, Becca Bates, Eric Brinsfield, Anthony Brinsfield, David Jones, Dale Jones, Sherry Gates, twenty-two great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and her extended family the Hawkins Family and Brandy High. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Johnny Brinsfield, grandson Johnny Brinsfield II, great -great granddaughter Zariah Randle, sister Alice Haworth, brothers Aubry and Orbry Lee. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Dale Stephens and James Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be Billy Brinsfield, Eric Brinsfield, David Jones, Dale Jones, Scott Gates and Shaun Gates. Honorary Bearers will be James Brinsfield, Johnny Choate, James Gillispe, Kenny Stephens, Gerry Stephens, Ricky Stephens and Don Haworth.
