Gilbert Lee McNeill

Gilbert Lee McNeill, Shawnee resident, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 in Shawnee, at the age of 73.  Gilbert was born on February 18, 1950 in Seminole, OK to Charles Edward McNeill and Daisy Violet (Vincent) McNeill. He grew up in and spent most of his life in the Seminole and Shawnee areas.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Polk, Louisiana.  Gilbert also served with the American Legion.

Gilbert enjoyed carpentry.  He was always happy, even in the face of bad news.  He dearly loved his wife, Donna.  Gilbert was well liked at the Shawnee Care Center and always enjoyed the women.  He was a good brother.

Gilbert is survived by his sister, Betty Douglas of Chandler; three brothers, Charles Cleave McNeill of Washington, Vince McNeill of Seminole, OK  and James McNeill of Wewoka, OK and many other family and friends.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, Charles McNeill; mother, Daisy Davis; wife, Donna McNeill and his brother, Jimmy McNeill.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, OK.  Pastor Carl Whitfield will officiate.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
