Lifelong Seminole resident, Gilbert Ray "Gib" Foster passed away Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the age of 85. rnrnHe was born on October 28, 1920 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma to William McCain and Susie Lucille (Presley) Foster. He married Alice LaVaughn (Pharr) Foster on December 25, 1941 in Seminole, Oklahoma. rnrn"Gib" served in the United States Army during WWII. He began working at the Seminole Bakery, then ran a chicken route, worked for Modern Appliance and then owned and operated Foster Refrigeration in Seminole in the early 50's. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 204, serving 18 years as a finance officer and 4 years as a commander. Gib enjoyed playing golf after retirement in 1979. He was a very active and dedicated volunteer for the American Legion for 35 years. rnrnHe is survived by his wife Alice (Pharr) Foster of the home, three daughters and son-in-law; Cynthia and Jim Easter of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Shirley Nelson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Patricia and Mel Johnson of Seminole, Oklahoma.
