Geraldine Island

Geraldine Island Longtime Seminole resident Geraldine Island passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 86. She was born on November 11, 1922 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Dewey Humby and Ethel (Bowleg) Humby. She married Woodrow Island on February 28, 1942 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law; Woodrow Island, Jr. and Jami of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Steven Island of Seminole, two daughters and a son-in-law: Verna Hearn and husband Cleo of Lancaster, Texas and Shirley Williams of Seminole.  She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Ethel Humby, her husband Woodrow Island, three sisters, one brother and one grandson. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens located East of Seminole on Highway 270 with Bobby Curry and J.C. Simpson officiating. Casket Bearers will be her grandson’s and honorary bearer will be Marc Anthony Williams.
