Gerald Brooking

Gerald Wayne Brooking, 79 year old Maud, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Friday, December 16, 2016 at his home in Maud.  He was born October 30, 1937 in Snyder, Oklahoma to parents Della Faye (Davis) Brooking and Vernon L. Brooking. Following high school Gerald served in the United States Army. Gerald worked on pipeline and as an oilfield roustabout before retiring.  He enjoyed shuffleboard, fishing, hunting, carpentry and building things. Survivors include two sons, Michael C. Brooking of Houston, Texas, Christopher Mark Brooking of Holdenville, Oklahoma, one daughter, Angela D. Brooking of Holdenville, Oklahoma, three brothers, Doyle G. Brooking of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Melvin D. Brooking of Ada, Oklahoma, Kenny Brooking of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one sister, Joyce Brooking of San Diego, California, 6 grandchildren, Maria, Michael Anthony, Jimmy, Lloyd, Chris, Breanna, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Della and V.L. Brooking, one sister, Carolyn Harris and by one daughter, Debbie Brooking. Private family services were held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma. Services were entrusted to Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
