Georgia Elizabeth (Colwell) Ham, 85 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Golden Rule Care Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born May 11, 1928 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to parents Ezra Johnson Colwell and Lydia (Bailey) Colwell. After spending several years in California, Georgia and her husband Claude Ham moved back to Seminole in 1974 from Ventura, California where she had studied music and fine arts. Georgia was a homemaker and former member of the Seminole V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, the 40 & 8 Veterans organization, she also loved to garden and play bingo. Georgia was also a true love animal lover who would care for any creature who happened along from birds to cats and dogs. Survivors include one step-daughter-in-law, Dolores Ham of Bakersfield, California; one sister, Jean Colwell of Seminole, Oklahoma; a nephew, James and his wife Lisa Robinson of Shawnee who cared for Georgia; and a host of other nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Lydia Colwell; husband Claude R. Ham who died on December 31, 1995; six sisters; two brothers and by one step-son, John Ham. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at Little Cemetery located north of Seminole on Hwy. 99.
