Georgia Janet Griffis departed this life on April 9, 2009 at home in Earlsboro, Oklahoma at the age of 56, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 23,1953 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Savannah Brannon and Frank Brannon. She lived in Earlsboro and Midwest City all her life. She attended Earlsboro Middle School and High School. Gerogia was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Shawnee. rnrnShe married Terry R. Griffis on the 15 Day of April 1970. To this union four children were born. Georgia had worked for Midwest City Hospital. She enjoyed making others happy, and will forever be remembered by her cooking, kind heart, and her love for her family and friends. rnrnShe leaves behind a lifetime of love and happiness for all that knew and loved her. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: James, Billy, Frank, and Cleo Brannon; one sister: Deloris Brannon. rnrnShe leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Three sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas E. and Ramona Griffis and Derrick R. Griffis of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; Tracey L. Griffis of San Diego, California; one daughter, Marguetta D. Griffis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.rnrnThree sisters and one brother-in-law: Birdie and Hue Littleton of San Diego, California; Ethel Thomas of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Annette Brannon of Earlsboro, Oklahoma. One brother: Gerald Brannon of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.rnrnAunts: Juanita Brannon of Earlsboro, Oklahoma; Bulena Brannon of Hawthorne, California. Uncle: Jackie Talton of Shawnee, Oklahoma. 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.rnrnA Celebration of Georgia's life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church in Shawnee. Rev. Wilbert Tripplet will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery in Earlsboro, Oklahoma.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home - Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral Information: April 17, 2009, 11:00 AM
