George Louis Winters, long time Konawa, Oklahoma resident passed away at his home, Friday, December 18, 2009 at the age of 57. George was born May 26, 1952 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to parents George L. and Mary (Johnston) Winters. George moved from Okinawa to Oklahoma City and then from Oklahoma City to Konawa in 1969. He was employed with McClure Fuel Service which later became Oklahoma Liquified Gas for 30 years, where he helped manage and deliver propane, for the company. George was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the American Harley Davidson Racing Association. He placed nationally in 1994, had the top gas Harley Davidson. Also, George loved to work on computers but mostly loved to spend time with his daughter and his grandchildren. George was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Cheri Winters who passed away July 11, 2008 and grandparents Elmer and Lorene Johnston. George is survived by daughter Trina Lee of Kingston, Oklahoma and grandchildren Alexus and Trace Lee also of Kingston, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Konawa, Oklahoma, with Father Adrian Vorderlandwher, O.S.B. presiding. Interment with be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Konawa, Oklahoma Serving as pallbearers: Tim Lowry, Bobby Lee, Alan Kramer, Oness Carpenter, Jack Harris and Jeff Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Cole and Rick Yerby Visitation will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa, Oklahoma.
