George D. Richards, 61 George D. Richards, life long Seminole resident, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at the age of 61, in Seminole, Oklahoma. George was born April 7, 1952 to parents, Floyd Richards and Louise (Sanderson) Richards in Seminole, Oklahoma. George married Joann McConnell on August 3, 1973 in Texas. He loved spending time with his family, fishing and camping. George worked in the oil field all of his life, and was of the Baptist faith. George is survived by his wife Joann of the home; two daughters, Michele Smith of Yukon, Oklahoma, Gina Wilson of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, Jerry Richards of Calvin, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Destry Jackson, Ansley Jackson, Briana Allison and Paytyn Dunn; a niece, several cousins, a host of other family and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Louise Richards. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers are: Jerry Richards, Chris Abshire, Justin Dunn, Marshand Fleming, Jim Hearrell and Wes Elliott. Honorary bearers will be Destry Jackson, Marvin McConnell, Larry Taylor, Bobby McConnell and Eugene Ranells. Services are under the directions of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
