Geneva Flora (Neal) Nelson, “Jean”, age 93 and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Jan Frances Care Center in Ada, Oklahoma. No memorial services are planned, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Jean was born May 23, 1923 in Konawa to William Harmon Neal and Willie “Etta” (Cargil). After graduating from Konawa High School, Jean entered the U.S. Navy serving during WWII as a clerical worker. She loved her pets, music, sewing, gardening, and bible study. She is survived by her daughter, Jeana Paul and husband, Emil of Hayden, Idaho; her son, Michael Nelson and wife, Janet of Albany, Oregon; sister-in-law, Pauline Neal of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren, Eric Paul, Wayne, and Brian Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Etta Neal; life-partner, Bob Giles; three brothers, Lewis, Otis, and Everett Neal; and three sisters, Inez Walker, Cora Thompson, and Zora Branscum.
