Geneva Christine (Berry) Fisher, lifelong Konawa resident, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2007, at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada, at the age of 83. She was born on December 9, 1923 in Konawa to Luther Arnold and Allie Lee (Minton) Berry. She graduated from Konawa High School in 1942. Geneva was voted the first female Most Outstanding Athlete at Konawa High School. After high school, Geneva worked at Douglas Aircraft during World War II. She married Lloyd L. Fisher on December 1, 1968 in Seminole, OK. She enjoyed fishing, raising chickens, ducks and geese, and selling fresh vegetables from her garden. Geneva was a loving homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Konawa.rnShe is survived by her husband Lloyd Fisher of the home; one son, Randall W. Nunley of Enid; one sister, Barbara Chase of Konawa; two grandchildren, Randy Wayne Nunley and Robie Lee Nunley; two great-grandchildren, Karsen Nunley and Summer Nunley and a host of other family and friends. rnShe was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gene and Roscoe Berry and two sisters, Bonnie Scott and Peggy Ledford. rnFuneral services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Richard Winters officiating and Randall W. Nunley assisting. Interment will be at Konawa City Cemetery in Konawa. Serving as casket bearers will be Randy Wayne Nunley, Robie Lee Nunley, Bobby Berry, Gerald Glynn Berry, Donnie Kiker and Barry Streetman. Honorary bearers will be Milton Courtney, Dan Khoury, Burnus Fisher, Arnold Robertson, Larkin Goodrich, Bret Hill and Richard Chase.
