Gene Arthur “Hoss” Owens, 81 year old longtime Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Gene was born August 12, 1936 in Hartford, Arkansas to Arthur Lloyd Owens and Lillian (Heath) Owens. Gene served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1960. Gene was a logger, truck driver and a heavy equipment operator during his working career. He enjoyed antiquing, collecting, song writing and reading. Gene was survived by two sons; Dean Evans of Wanette, Oklahoma and George Evans of Norman, Oklahoma, his daughter; Linda Evans, sisters; Linda McAdoo of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Betty Tanner of Mesa, Arizona, granddaughter Kasi Evans and great-grandson Eli. Gene was precede in death by his parents and siblings; Bill Owens, Doris Tamplin, Fonda Manley, Ronnie Owens, Pat Brown and Donnie Owens. No services are planned at this time.
