Gene Knight, 91, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away, Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at his home in Seminole. Gene was born October 8, 1928 in McLoud, Oklahoma to Riley Thomas Knight and Hazel (Coleman) Knight. Gene served his country in the United States Air Force for over 21 years, he retired as a Tech sergeant  and was honorable discharged  in 1972. Gene grew up in Seminole area and attended Strother Public Schools and entered the United States Air Force at the age of 17, after his service to his country he returned to Seminole to make it his home. He worked and managed Joe Brown concrete plant in Seminole, Oklahoma, for many years. Gene married Naoma Stevenson Knight on December 24, 1954 in Pinedale, California. Gene loved playing Golf, was a big Oklahoma University Sooner fan, watching OU football and all sports. Gene loved fishing, and was an amateur electrician. Gene attended the Harvey Road Baptist Church in Seminole, where he was a deacon for 35 years. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Naoma Knight of the home, three daughters Valerie Gober and her husband Paul of Seminole, Oklahoma, Tammy Knight of Seminole, and Susan Jones and her husband Mike of Aubrey, Texas, his two bonus daughters Trish Young and her husband Tim of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Melinda Bruce and her husband Gary of Florida, his sister Earlene Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma, six grandchildren; Johnna Morgan and her husband Matt of Lavaca, Arkansas, Ronnie Davidson of Houston, Texas, Bobby Davidson of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Laurie Seidel and her husband James of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Garrett Bartosh of Seminole Oklahoma and Mari Jones of Aubrey, Texas, and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Earl Knight, Louie Knight and Jackie Knight. Gravesides services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 1, 2020 at Little Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield and Rev. Russel Vicars officiating. Gene will receive full military honors at the graveside by the United States Air Force. Casket bearers will be Bob Herron, Rickey Marquis, Matt Morgan, Sawyer Marquis, Mike Jones and James Seidel. Honorary bearers will be Bobby Davidson, Ronnie Davidson, Garrett Bartosh and Paul Gober. Viewing for Mr. Knight will begin, Thursday afternoon, April 30, 2020. The casket will not be opened at the graveside services at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
