Seminole resident Eugene Eldon Houck, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his home.
Gene, the son of Raymond and Ruby (Rodgers) Houck, was born February 21, 1959, in Okmulgee Oklahoma. After graduating from high school, he attended OSU in Okmulgee. On June 14, 1980, Gene married Mitzi Kreeger, in Seminole. A diesel mechanic, Gene was the lead technician for Enable Midstream. He loved hunting and fishing, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his kids and grandchildren. Gene was a member of Temple of Praise in Seminole.
He loved helping others and he could fix anything. Gene was a hard worker and always spoiled the family. He was self less, he would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed helping his boys with projects around the house and shop, fixing up the Camaro was next! He loved teasing and joking around with family and friends specifically his grandkids. Pocketknives were always a running joke with him! This man was the strongest Dad/Husband/Poppi no matter what life threw at him.
You could always count on Gene.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond “Sonny” Houck; and sister, Judy Houck Barton.
He is survived by his wife, Mitzi of the home; sons, Kade Houck and Kimberly of Seminole, and Chad Houck and Jessie Lowe of Seminole, daughter in law, Brooke Houck of Seminole; grandchildren, Harper, Henley, Harlow, Kenzie, Kaylee, Braylen, Rylan, Jordon, and Knox; a brother, Joe Houck and Sandy of Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law, Tricia Houck; and many nieces and nephews and family and friends. He also claimed two special sons as his own, Blake Johnson and Curtis Lemmings.
Gene’s family will be available for visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday, January 31, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
