Gaylord Crook

Gaylord Bryan Crook,78 year old, Fort Smith, Arkansas resident passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009,at Saint Edwards Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 78. Gaylord was born October 24, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa to parents Bryan Jennings and Hazel Neil (Beebe) Crook. Gaylord was a Heating and Air Engineer and worked for 24 years as a government maintenance supervisor for Polk County in Des Moines, Iowa. Gaylord married Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Crook on August 22, 1992 at First Baptist Church of Knoxville, Iowa. Gaylord is survived by sons: Mark S. Crook of Des Moines, Iowa and William Lingle of Hartford, Iowa, daughters: Martha R. Mutchler of Des Moines, Iowa; Penny S. Penman of Granger, Iowa; Pamela A. Convery of Des Moines, Iowa; Patty R. Blackburn of Bondurant, Iowa; Donna L. Edwards of Des Moines, Iowa; three step-daughters: Denise D. Gillespie of Florida, Kimberly A. Watson of Des Moines, Iowa and Deborah T. Roberts of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Gaylord was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Aaron Jacob Edwards. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating, assisted by Chuck Crook. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery, Seminole County, Oklahoma. Surviving as Casket Bearers: Nicki Briggs, Vicki Johnson, Lewis Miller, Kelly Penman, Bryan Mutchler, Josh Crook, Rayne Roberts and Melissa Penman.
