Gaye Dawn Sparks Catcher passed away from a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) on August 14, 2012. Gaye was born on May 12, 1962, in Shawnee, OK. She was a resident of Seminole, OK, then moved to McAlester, OK, where she lived until 1987, when she moved to Fort Gibson. Gaye graduated from McAlester High School in 1980 and attended Southeastern State University in Durant, OK, where she studied Criminal Justice. Gaye worked at MCAAP Security until 1987. Gaye was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by many. Gaye was preceded in death by her father, Billy Earl Sparks, and by her grandparents, Bill and Ruth Allen of Seminole, OK, and Earl and Martha Sparks of Yale, OK. She is survived by: Mother, Willetta Sparks of Fort Gibson, OK.; Son, Justin Reece Catcher of Tahlequah, OK.; Son, Dustin Blake Catcher of Fort Gibson, OK.; Grandson, Jaden Cash Catcher of Tahlequah, OK.; Brother, William Earl Sparks of Tulsa, OK.; Brother, Robert Dean Sparks of Tahlequah, OK.; Sister-in-law, Tina Sparks of Tahlequah, OK. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Stinnett officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole, Oklahoma. Honorary Pallbearers: McAlester High School Class of 1980.
