Gary David Pollard, formerly of Seminole, passed into the arms of his savior Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Ada.
Gary, the son of Felix and Freddie (Payne) Pollard, was born November 20, 1943, in Ardmore. Gary graduated high school at Southwestern Assembly of God High School in Waxahachie Texas. He continued his education receiving his bachelor’s degree at East Central University in Ada and finally his master’s degree at Southwestern Missouri State, in Springfield Missouri. On March 26, 1964, he married Cora Gregg, in Ada, Oklahoma. Mrs. Pollard preceded Gary in death on October 7, 2014, following 50 years of marriage. Gary was a high school superintendent, a position he held at Paden, Red Oak, and Davenport, ultimately retiring as the superintendent of Butner Schools. He was the pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly in Seminole. Gary was also a skilled carpenter.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cora; a daughter, Tammy Pollard; granddaughter, Hannah Pollard; and two brothers, Coyce and Dale Pollard.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, David and Robin Pollard of Prague, Kevin and Amy Pollard of Wewoka, and Greg and Misty Pollard, of Ada; six grandchildren, Katie Jones, Ethan Pollard, Daniel Pollard, Delanie Pollard, Mackenzie Pollard and Gestin Pollard; three great grandchildren, Peyton, Ayden and Caysen Jones; and many other family and friends.
Viewing will be Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Services will be Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 10:00 A.M., at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
