Michael “Garrett” Lawson, 32 year-old, lifelong Seminole resident passed from this life Sunday, Oct 23, 2011 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was born Oct 16, 1979 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents Mike Lawson and Gayla Duvall. Garrett graduated from Seminole High School in 1999. He then earned a business administration degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Michael worked as a volunteer Fire Fighter. Survivors include his mother, Gayla Duvall of Seminole, Oklahoma; his father and step-mother, Mike and Gayla Pemberton-Lawson of Wolf, Oklahoma; one son, Daythan Lawson and mother, Heather Fowler of Meeker, Oklahoma; one brother, Jarrod Vasquez of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mandy Vasquez of Seminole, Oklahoma and Kristi Lawson of Seminole, Oklahoma; he is also survived by a host of other dear family and friends including, paternal grandmother Edna Lawson of Wolf and maternal grandfather, “Doc” Duvall of Seminole, Oklahoma. Garrett is preceded in death by one grandfather, J.T. Lawson and by one grandmother, Sue Duvall. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole with Rev. Marvin Kehl officiating the service. Following the memorial service Garrett’s cremains will be placed on the farm that he loved in Wolf, Oklahoma and at Lake Eufaula. Garrett’s favorite saying was, “Just Living The Dream!” A memorial fund has been set up at BancFirst for his son, Daythan.
