Freeman Ray “Pete” Amos, 68, life long Seminole resident, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Pete was born February 1, 1946 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Jaunell Ruth (Crawford) and Charles Rawlin Amos. Pete grew up in the Seminole area and attended Varnum Schools, he graduated in 1964. In his younger years he attended the Church of Christ at Little, Oklahoma. Pete worked as an electrician for Canadian Valley Electric Corp., Mullinex Electric and B & L Electric before starting his own business in 1989, “Pete’s Electric”. He loved John Wayne and his movies, he enjoyed watching old western shows, but his greatest love was his grandchildren whom he cherished very much. Pete married Judy Gooding on April 18, 1969 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Pete leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Judy Amos of 45 years, his sons; Ryan Amos, Ricky Amos and Russell Amos of Seminole, Oklahoma, two daughters-in-law Danael and Nekiah Amos, his grandchildren; Shelby, Wyatt, Paige, Scarlett, Bode, Daniel and Maggie; his mother, Jaunell Moses; three sisters, Carolyn and her husband Charley Sullivan, Charlene and her husband Jerry Robertson, and Marian Henry, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his fathe,r C.R. Amos, grandparents, Maude and Harlan Amos and Pearl and Earnest Crawford. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ryan Amos, Ricky Amos, Russell Amos, Bob Herron, Houston Yeager and Ronnie Richardson.
