Fredricka (Barnett) English

Fredricka English, Seminole resident, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at her home, at the age of 79.  Fredricka was born on March 16, 1943 in Holdenville, OK to Johnnie Mae (Washington) Barnett.

On July 16, 1956 Fredricka and her brother, David, were baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Holdenville, OK by Pastor John B. Bruner. Growing up in Holdenville she was a singer in a gospel women’s group at Friendship Baptist Church where Ed Lacy was the road manager.  In her spare time, she enjoyed WWE wrestling.  The Young and the Restless was one of her favorite soap operas.   Fredricka enjoyed crossword puzzles.  She loved taking afternoon drives with her husband, Henry.  She was proud of her 33 years working and helping her community at Seminole Walmart.

Fredricka is survived by her two sons, Carlos English of Seminole, OK and Byron English of Oklahoma City; daughter, Wendy English of Kansas City, MO; brother, Gabe Barnett and wife, Rosa of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Clarita Baker of Holdenville, OK; ten grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Fredricka was preceded in death by her mother, Johnnie Mae Barnett and brother, David Ray Baker and daughter, Sheri Lynn Barnett.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Buchner Cemetery in Holdenville.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
