Freddie J. Barnett, age 75 and a former resident of Konawa, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2010 at his residence in Asher, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22nd at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery in Konawa. Scott Dobbs, Pastor of Cornerstone Ministries in Asher, Oklahoma, will officiate. Pallbearers are Mark Lasater, Billy Lasater, Geary Lasater, Brian Lasater, Gerad McKinley, and Billy Jo Fisher. Honorary Pallbearers are Arland Williams, Carl Clemons, Dewayne Dobbs, and Tim Dobbs. Freddie was born on June 14, 1935 in Konawa to Fred Franklin Barnett and Johnie Christila (Freeman) Barnett. He married Darla (Franks) on August 4, 1988 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He was employed as an automotive technician for the U. S. Postal Service. Freddie was a former member of the McLoud Pentecostal Holiness Church and a current member of the Cornerstone Ministries Church of Asher. He loved rebuilding cars, trucks, and hotrods. He is survived by his wife, Darla Barnett of the home; two sons, Fred F. Barnett of Oklahoma City, and Jayson H. Bucy of Latta, Oklahoma; two daughters, Penny J. Gabel of Shiloh, Illinois, and Tina L. Richardson of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
