Freda Kay Proctor

Freda Kay (Cathey) Proctor, age 78, passed away January 2, 2020 at her home in Norman, Oklahoma. Freda was born June 12, 1941 in Fairfield, Illinois to parents Fred Jones Cathey and  Bertie Ethel (Dillon) Sanford. She was raised in Seminole, Oklahoma and had been a resident of Norman since 1973. Freda received a bachelor’s degree and worked as an administrative secretary. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, Thunder Basketball games and OU Football games, reading, shopping and she liked to be well groomed. She enjoyed holidays, especially Christmas. She loved spending time with her daughter Melissa and her grandson Ryan, who is 11 years old. Freda is survived by her daughter; Melissa Proctor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, grandson; Ryan Reese and brother Bill Cathey and his wife Barbara of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father; Fred Cathey, her mother; Ethel Sanford and her son; David Proctor. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Maple Grove Cemetery, 1000 West Strother Avenue in Seminole, Oklahoma where she will be laid to rest next to her son David Proctor.
