Fred Oliver

January 20, 1943 — April 25, 2010

Fred Oliver, 67 year-old, Tuttle resident and former Seminole resident passed from this life Sunday, April 25, 2010 in Del City, Oklahoma.  He was born January 20, 1943 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Don Oliver and Bonnie (Combs) Oliver. Fred attended Seminole Schools where he played football and baseball.  He later moved to Oklahoma City and served in the Army National Guard.  Fred was a welder-millwright and earned a job helping build the General Motors Plant.  He then went to work for General Motors retiring after 27 years of service.  He also raised ostriches, imus, horses, dogs and cats and loved them all. Fred is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Leslie Oliver of Midwest City, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Joe Starzenski of Midwest City, Oklahoma; one brother, Gerald Oliver of Tuttle, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Ron Blackbird of Del City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Tara Starzenski, Haley and Grant Oliver; nephews Barry and Gary Blackbird; special friend Donna Bryce who along with Gerald were loving caregivers for Fred.  We also want to give special thanks to Barry for all of his help. Fred was very proud of his children for both finishing their college education and then both becoming educators themselves.  Fred loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed the outdoors.  He also loved to watch his brother Gerald boat race; play dominoes at work; go to estate sales with his special friend Donna and he also loved to ride his motorcycle. Fred will always be remembered as a big brother. It was a privilege for the family to have him as their own.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family wants to thank Hospice Quality Care and Integris Cancer Center for the care he received while he was there.  The family has designated donations to be made in memory of Fred to Hospice Quality Care, 921 S. Sooner Road, Midwest City, Oklahoma 73110. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Little Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service. Casket Bearers will be: John Shroyer, Mark Wells, Don Jesse James, John Crear, Don Lachance and Maurice Moe Lachance.
