Fred Joseph Kuestersteffen, Jr., age 48 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010, at Valley View Regional Hospital after battling cancer. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 15th at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Rev. Pam Shirk, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Konawa, will officiate. Fred was born on August 12, 1961, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Margaret (Abbott) and Fred J. Kuestersteffen. He graduated from Konawa High School in 1979. He was employed as a Civil Service Aircraft Inspector for Tinker Air Force Base for 23 years. Fred was also an environmentalist. He was preceeded in death by his father, Fred J. Kuestersteffen. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Kuestersteffen of Konawa; two sisters, Brenda Phillips and Sherry Butler, both of Konawa; two nieces, Tracy Burris and husband Brad of Idabel, Oklahoma, and Stacy Gee and husband, Brad of Oklahoma City; one nephew, Clayton Phillips of Konawa; 5 great nieces, Katelyn and Claire Burris, and Sarah, Hannah and Lydia Gee; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
