Fred T. Clough, Jr., 92, longtime Seminole area resident died, Thursday, February 12, 2015 in Seminole. Fred was born August 11, 1922 in Wirt, Oklahoma to Dora Mae (Barbour) and Fred Tolar Clough, Sr.  Fred moved to Seminole 67 years ago from Floyd, New Mexico, and attended and graduated from Bowlegs Public Schools. He had received his Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and his Master’s degree from East Central University. Fred was retired high school principal and counselor. He spent most of his career at Bowlegs Schools until he retired in 1987. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Seminole, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Fred loved playing cards with his family at gatherings, camping, fishing, loved his dogs, woodworking and making cabinets, loved to repair things and help people build houses, water sports, including skiing and golf. Fred was an avid reader; he never stopped learning, in his older years he taught himself how to run a computer and how to email friends.  Fred served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corp, in Air Traffic Control, serving in  India- Burma. Fred served from November 17, 1942 to November 17, 1945, and had made Sargent Rank. He received the good conduct medal with two bronze service stars, and served in the 724th Army Airways Communication System Squadron, which later became the U. S. Air Force. Fred married Dorothy Jean (DeShazo) Clough and they were married in July 18, 1942 shortly before he went into World War II and they were happily married for 63 years when she passed away on January 19, 2006. Fred is survived by his son Dennis Clough and his wife Jewell of Roanoke, Texas, his son-in-law J.R. Pack of Seminole, Oklahoma, sister Betty Darling of Healdton, Oklahoma, three grandchildren John Whalon, Donnie Pack and Dale Pack, six great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and by his special friend Janene Day. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy and his daughter Fredda Pack, his brothers, C.B. Clough and Roy Clough. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Chris Stinnett officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U. S. Air Force. Pall bearers will be John Whalon, Donnie Pack, Dale Pack,  Jimmy Darling, Mike Darling and Kenny Darling. Honorary bearers will be, Jim Hardin, Bill Renfro, Richard Worley, Brandon Whalon, Derrick Pack, Stan Kiker and Lee Stilwell.
