Frankie Darlene (Frump) Smith, age 82 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, departed from this life surrounded by her family Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. A Celebration of Life will be held for Frankie Darlene Smith at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2019, at the Konawa Performing Arts Center (PAC) under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Kyle Wingfield and Brad Beller will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23rd at the funeral home. She was born April 26, 1937 at Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Franklin Frump and Ollie Bernice Franklin Frump. She graduated from Sasakwa High School in 1955 where she excelled in the classroom and on the basketball court. She graduated from Seminole State College and attended East Central University. She married Wayne Allen Smith on March 28, 1953 in Coalgate, Oklahoma. They recently celebrated sixty-six years of marriage. They moved to Sheridan Lake, Colorado in 1957 where Wayne was employed as a teacher and coach. It was during these years in which their three children were born. In 1974, they returned to Konawa, Oklahoma, where Frankie worked for twenty-three years at Konawa Elementary. They raised their family and spent the next forty-five years together watching their family grow. She especially loved watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren playing at the beach in Destin, Florida. Nana was an avid sports fan of the Konawa Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma City Thunder, and various high schools and club teams where her grandchildren and great-grandchildren played. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Smith of Konawa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Kelly Palmer (Michael) of Silo, Oklahoma and Kimberly Wilson of Konawa, Oklahoma; one son, Kevin Smith (Melissa) of Frisco, Texas; five granddaughters, Kami Beller (Brad), Kassie Wingfield (Kyle), Hailey Reynolds (Jon), Kaci (Wilson) Rodriguez (Landon), and Jillian Smith; two grandsons, Kale Palmer (Torrie), and Sam Smith; eight great grandchildren, Kelby, Briley, and Roxy Beller, Kash, Scout, and Scarlett Wingfield, Wilson Rodriguez, and Finnlie Palmer; four sisters, Peggy Roulston, Marie Brown, Dale (Smith) Simmons, Betty Sanders, and a host of special nieces and nephews. She loved being surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin & Ollie Frump, and Bill & Bonnie Smith; three brothers, Floyd Frump, Otis Hailey, and Vernon Simmons; two sisters, Willa Dean Crosby and Blanche (Smith) Hailey.
