Frankie Marie (Collins) Bird, 78 year old Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Cornerstone Hospital of Shawnee, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 21, 1939 in Konawa, Oklahoma to parents, Thomas Franklin “Frank” Collins and Ethel Marie (Payne) Collins. Frankie grew up in the Saint Louis and Maud areas. Frankie graduated from Saint Louis High School in Saint Louis, Oklahoma in 1958. In March of 1970 Frankie married Richard Bird in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Frankie worked in the home health care field for many years as a CNA at several area nursing homes later as an individual health caregiver. Frankie loved to watch the “Wheel of Fortune,” playing dominoes, doing word search puzzles, gardening and loved her family and her dog, Georgie, and her cat, Willa. If Frankie was driving and you were with her she would pat you on the knee and say, “A Penny for Your Thoughts”. She loved talking about the motorcycle trips that she would take with her husband Richard. Frankie loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She also loved to go to the Konawa all night gospel singings, she loved bluegrass and country music and of course Elvis. Frankie is survived by her two brothers, Jerry Collins of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Wayne Collins and his wife Wanda Collins of Florida; one sister, Juanita Howell of Shawnee, Oklahoma; by her companion of several years, Earl Brewer of Newalla, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, Archie Ray Scott and his wife Barbara of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Tami Morgan and her daughter Lexus Morgan of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Kenneth Brooks and his wife Lena Brooks of Seminole, Oklahoma, Alexis Brooks, Jaclynn Brooks, Isabella Brooks and Christopher Brooks all of Seminole, Oklahoma, Keeley Cook of Seminole, Oklahoma, Angela O’Conner of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Brandon Leadford, Canbrea Leadford, Jonice Collins all of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Frankie is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Frankie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bird who died in 1993, by three brothers, Ray Scott, Hoot “Ralph” Collins, John Bell “J.B.” Collins, by two sisters, Hazel Scott and Edna Scott. Frankie was also preceded in death by one niece, Lisa Marie Cook who died in 2009 and by a nephew, Jacob Lee Cook who died in 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 1, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service. Frankie will be laid to rest next to her husband Richard Bird at Little Cemetery located north of Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket Bearers will be: Ken Brooks, Keeley Cook, Trent Brooks, Chase Jennings, Archie Scott, Johnnie Brooks and Aaron Litz. Honorary Bearers will be: Tom Brewer and Blake Bruce.
