Frances Belle (Vermillion) Whitford, 83 year old Seminole resident and loving mother and grandmother, passed from this life Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at her home in Seminole. She was born September 8, 1923 in Neodesha, Kansas to parents Buford V. Vermillion and Samantha Jane (Hughes) Vermillion.rnrnFrances moved to Seminole in the summer of 1929 and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School Frances went on to attend Business College. She married George W. Whitford on December 26, 1942 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. During the war Frances worked at Douglas Aircraft and lived in Oklahoma City until 1945.rnrnIn 1945 George returned from overseas duty and they made their home in Seminole where Mrs. Whitford worked as a secretary for Baker Oil Tool and then as a clerk for Sullivan-Dollar Insurance Company in Seminole. She was a member of the First Bapitst Church in Seminole, Oklahoma where she taught in the children's department.rnrnFrances held several different offices while she was a member of WMU for many years.rnShe had also been a Rainbow Girl and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She also ejoyed cooking, sewing, and fishing.rnrnFrances leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and L.E. Schneiter, III. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.rnrnOne sister and brother-in-law, Marie and John W. Harris of Edmond, Oklahoma.rnrnTwo grandsons, Lance and his wife Kate Schneiter IV., of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Trent Whitford Schneiter of Dallas, Texas.rnrnOne great granddaughter, Mackenzie Schneiter of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.rnrnOther survivors include a brother-in-law and wife, Dale and Louree Eason of August, Texas, sister-in-law and husband, Helen and Ralph Mason of Edmond, Oklahoma. And a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.rnrnFrances is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 58 years, George Whitford, who died Sept. 23, 1999.rnrnA Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Tommy Clark officiating.rnrnHonorary bearers will be: Ralph Mason, Dale Eason, Pinky Coates, John W.
