Frances (Wilson) Dobbins, 76 year old, former Seminole County resident passed from this life July 7, 2007 at Humble, Texas. She was born June 18, 1931, in Wilmer, Alabama to parents Alex A. Wilson and LeElla (Harper) Wilson. Frances married Thomas Vincent Dobbins in 1956 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death, January 13, 2002.rnrnMrs. Dobbins earned her bachelors degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and then her Masters Degree from Oklahoma University in Norman, Oklahoma. She worked as a home economics teacher for many years. She started teaching in 1952 in Varnum, Oklahoma, taught there for five years and then Maud Schools for five years before moving to Enid, Oklahoma where she taught in nearby Carrier Schools for three years. She then took a job with the Oklahoma Department of Education as nutrition coordinator from 1965 until 1974. She then relocated to Pensacola, Florida along with her husband who had been transferred with Exxon Oil Company. In Florida she worked for Florida Department of Citrus. In 1981 Mr. Dobbins was transferred to Houston, Texas. Frances then worked in Humble, Texas, Schools as the school Food Service Director until she retired in 2002.rnrnFrances was a member of the Church of Christ and was very active in the schools where she taught. She served as a school sponsor on many occasions and was involved with the F.H.A. (Future Homemakers of America).rnrnShe leaves to cherish her memory two nieces: Sally Kelton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Sue Bohannon and her husband Gary of Maud, Oklahoma, and her special caretaker, Yolanda Edmonds of Humble, Texas.rnrnAlso surviving are great nieces and nephews: Stephanie and Aaron Corbett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jeff Kelton of Oklahoma City, Lisa and Sean Troub of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Kim and Shane O?Daniel of Weatherford, Oklahoma.rnrnGreat-great nieces and nephews: Rennie Troub and Rory Troub of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Hunter O?Daniel and Luke O?Daniel of Weatherford, Oklahoma.rnrnFrances is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends.rnrnMrs. Dobbins is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Thomas Dobbins (2002).rnrnGraveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.
