Frances Darlene Cully, long-time resident of Konawa, OK completed her journey on earth surrounded by her family at Chickasaw Medical Center on January 30, 2022. She was born to Roy and Lahoma (Walker) George on September 27, 1948 in Sasakwa, OK.
She was a graduate of Konawa High School and earned her associates from Seminole State College later in life. Frances retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs as JOM Coordinator in 2012 and spent her retired life enjoying her family, watching her great grands, hosting bible studies, and sitting on her back porch reading her bible. Frances was a member of Vamoosa Baptist Church and loved teaching her Sunday School class. She also spent her life serving others through mission trips to many reservations encouraging the native people, always cooking for someone, and baking cakes for birthdays and weddings.
Frances loved her family and was known for making up stories, pointing with her lips, saving cardboard for crafts, always feeding her family “snacks”, loving Harley Davidson bikes, and putting the pedal to the metal in her truck. She is missed deeply by her family.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Cully, parents, Roy and Lahoma (Walker) George, brother, Bobby George, and her baby girl, Dena Brady. She is survived by her two daughters, Darlene Shaffer and husband, Donnie, Jean Ann Johnson and husband, Scott; six grandkids, Amanda Lee, Lyndsay Elliott, Jarrod Porter, Leslie Johnson, Tyler Porter, and Tony Johnson; three great grandkids, Isaiah Underwood, Deaton Elliott, Hayven Lee; and one great grandson on the way.
