Francene "Fran" Taylor, 74 year-old, longtime Seminole resident passed from this life Saturday, March 7, 2009 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was born August 10, 1934 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to parents Coleman Ray Crane and Anna Lee (Dixon) Crane.rnrnFran graduated from Tecumseh High School and later married Kenneth "Ken" Taylor on May 17, 1952 at Rock Creek Baptist Church.rnrnFran had worked for Joe Mills Well Service for many years and later retired from Interfin. However, "retirement" didn't seem to be in Fran's vocabulary. She continued to be very active in the Seminole's Elks Lodge where she worked along with her husband Ken in many various capacities from hostess to cook. She also served as a substitute teacher for Seminole Public Schools. Fran always had an absolute love for children and always made them feel very special.rnrnFran was of the Baptist faith. She loved being involved with many social gatherings no matter if it were at the lake, or the lodge (especially the "Oil Barron's Ball") or just hanging out with the grandchildren and their friends at home. She always made sure everyone had enough to eat and that she hugged every neck.rnrnFran leaves to cherish her memory her husband of almost 57 years Ken Taylor of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Donna Taylor of Antrim, New Hampshire; two daughters, Lea Ann Taylor of Ada, Oklahoma and Karen Everett of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one brother, Charles Crane of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Jennifer & Jeremy Pippenger, Matt Pippenger, Royce & Erica Pochinski, Kristen Taylor, Brandon Taylor and Taylor Everett; eight great-grandchildren, Shelby, Caitlynn, Logan, Maddox, Jaken, Aiden, Maverick and Zayne; she is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends.rnrnFran was preceded in death by her parents.rnrnFran will always be remembered for her sweet, sweet smile; her love for others and her knack of making everyone feel special. rnrnA memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Seminole Elks Lodge.rnrnViewing will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home on Monday (3-9-09) and Tuesday (3-10-09) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. only, prior to cremation.rnrnArrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
