Francis ?Fran? (Grooms) McCarty, 68 year-old, longtime Maud resident passed from this life Monday, November 5, 2007 in Seminole, Oklahoma.? She was born March 23, 1939 in Longview, Texas to parents Stephen Lonzo Grooms and Cora Elizabeth (Pittman) Grooms.rnrnFran married Robert ?Bob? McCarty February 3, 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.? The couple lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma from 1979 until 1994 when they returned to Maud.? Fran retired from Homeland where she had worked in the meat markets both in Shawnee then in Seminole where she retired in 2001.? She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maud.rnrnFran leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 51 years, Bob McCarty of the home in Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnOne son, Robert ?Bunky? McCarty of Choctaw, Oklahoma.rnrnTwo daughters and a son-in-law, Elizabeth ?Winky? Ausdenmoore of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and Teresa and her husband Joe Workman of Konawa, Oklahoma.rnrnSeven sisters and brothers-in-law; Betty ?Souki? Kelley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;? Joyce Stackhouse Brann of Maud, Oklahoma; Bobbie Nell and husband Bob Woods of Maud, Oklahoma; Jean and husband Paul Rowley of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Virginia and husband Gary McClaskey of Maud, Oklahoma; Glenda and her husband Lloyd Bowers of Maud, Oklahoma; and Virginia and husband Homer Bergen of Shawnee, Oklahoma.rnrnAlso surviving her are eight grandchildren; Andrea and husband J.D. Johnson; Jacob Goodnight; Dustin and his wife Jessica Goodnight; Sara Ausdenmore; Anna Ausdenmoore; William Ausdenmoore; Robert McCarty and Sean McCarty.? Two great grandchildren with one on the way, Bronc Johnson and Jaygen Goodnight also survive.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma.? Rev. Bobby Shatto will officiate the service assisted by Fran?s brother-in-law, Bob Woods.rnrnInterment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnCasket bearers will be:? Steve Woods, Steven Bowers, Gary McClaskey, Ernie Rowley, Eddie Stackhouse and Tommy Kelley.rnrnHonorary bearers will be:? Floyd Bowers, Gary McClaskey, Paul Rowley and Homer Bergen.rnrnKnight-Swearingen Funeral Home, located at the corner of Broadway & Monroe Streets in Maud, Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements.rnrnThe family has requested that donations in Fran?s memory be made to the First Baptist Church / P.O.
