Floyd Marvin Osborne, age 68 and a long-time resident of Sasakwa, Oklahoma, passed away from this life Thursday, June 8, 2017 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14th at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Seminole Indian Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will begin Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Wake Service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 13th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Floyd was born July 11, 1948 in Sasakwa to Jeff Osborne and Madilour (Adkins) Osborne. He graduated from Sasakwa High School, and he also attended Okmulgee Technical College and majored in Diesel Mechanics. Floyd proudly served in the United States Navy from 1969 until 1971 where he completed a special three month deployment to Vietnam. He received a Letter of Commendation stating there are very few Navymen who can say they have remained at sea continuously for over ninety days. He also received the Vietnam Service Medal. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, Floyd also worked for many years as a diesel mechanic for B.J. Hughes. He enjoyed working on cars and talking with others. He is survived by three sons, Mose Lindsey and wife, Anna of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Sam Osborne also of Okmulgee, and Marshall Osborne of Holdenville, Oklahoma; four daughters, Sandy Allen and husband, Acee of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Becky Lindsey of Okemah, Oklahoma, Tonya Osborne of Holdenville, Oklahoma, and Lawana Osborne and husband, Nathan Akuma of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six brothers, Jackie Osborne of Konawa, David Osborne of Enid, Oklahoma, Clarence Osborne and wife, Diana of Ada, Oklahoma, Rickie Osborne and wife, Beverly also of Ada, Eugene Osborne and wife, Vickie of Stratford, and Harold Lee Osborne of Sasakwa; and thirteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
