Floyd Vann Clayton

August 21, 1932 — October 29, 2015

Floyd Vann Clayton, age 83 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Norman Specialty Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Vamoosa Baptist Church located east of Konawa.  Richard Winters will officiate, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Greg Fry, Steven Fry, Chris Sharp, Darin Sharp, Todd Harris, Terry Harris, and Rick Husted. Floyd was born on August 21, 1932 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Floyd William Clayton and Racheal Lucille (Walston) Clayton.  He graduated from Vamoosa High School in 1950, and he married Katherine (Pruitt) Gorczyca on May 29, 1975, in Konawa.  Floyd was an aircraft inspector for Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, and he was also an Air Force Veteran.  He enjoyed working his cattle and horses, roping, and fishing.  He was a member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, Mickey Clayton and wife, Heather of Pryor, Oklahoma; one step-son, Jack Gorczyca and wife, Patty of Harrah, Oklahoma; one daughter, Shari Tompkins and husband, Bobby of Newcastle, Oklahoma; four sisters, Shirley Spence of Oklahoma City, Sue Roulston and husband, Grayson of Oklahoma City, Lou Nell Wilson of Konawa, and Retta Gilbert and husband, Otis of Konawa; two grandchildren, Cooper Clayton and Carson Clayton; and one step-grandson, Thad Gorczyca. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd William Clayton and Rachael Lucille Clayton, and his wife, Katherine Clayton.
