Emma Fern Cheatham, 96, longtime Seminole resident, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Mrs. Cheatham was born July 31, 1920 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Charles Harrison Decker and Laura (Sheddrick) Decker. Fern married Amos Cheatham on June 28, 1938 in Wewoka, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1988. Fern moved to Seminole 71 years ago from Bristow, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She owned and operated a service station in Letha, south of Seminole on old highway #99, for many years. She is survived by one sister, Allene Crouch of Tulsa, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Amos Allen Cheatham, three brothers, Raymond Decker, Norman Charles (Buster) Decker and Leonard Decker, two sisters Rosalie Gregg, and Myrtle Meade. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Little Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Casket bearers will be Kyle Kean, Leon Kean, Albert Kean, Aaron Winterscheid, Kenneth Deines and Randy Lehman.
