Faye B. Jay, 71, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, died Friday, November 6, 2015 at her home. Faye was born December 17, 1943 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Albert Joel Elliott and Floy Viola (Price) Elliott. Faye married Burl Jay on October 22, 1962 in Holdenville, Oklahoma, and they just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Faye loved bowling, crocheting and square dancing. She was a member of the Boots and Bow’s Square dancing club. Faye worked at several factories during her adult life and was working at Big Yank in Wewoka, when they closed. After they closed, she decided to go back to college at the age of 50 and become a nurse. She used her nursing skills working for nursing homes in the Seminole area for over 10 years until her retirement. Faye is survived by her husband, Burl Jay of Seminole, Oklahoma, two daughters, Teresa Watts of Seminole, Oklahoma and Kristina McKitrick of McAlester, Oklahoma, one son, Clifton Jay of Seminole, Oklahoma, 9 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, her brother Don Elliott of Holdenville, Oklahoma and sister Mary Allen Madden of Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Megan Watts, and two brothers, Vernon Elliott and Albert Elliott, four sisters Viola Freed, Leona Freed, Dovie Davis and Yvonne Catlett. Memorial services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.
