Evelyn Harrell

Evelyn “ Shorty” Harrell, 85, Shawnee, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Shawnee Care Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born December 11, 1924 in Ada, Oklahoma to Fred and Sally (Barrett) Hale. Evelyn was a longtime Maud area resident and was a graduate of Asher High School. Evelyn also attended Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma. Evelyn lived in California for a time and also in Memphis, Tenn., while in Memphis she was a clerk at the Montizze Grocery Store and also worked at the Post Office in Ashport, Tenn. Four sisters Lillian Allen of Maud, Oklahoma, Mickey Spencer and her husband Floyd of Maysville, Oklahoma, Maxine Batt and her husband Gene of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Carolyn Hughes of Prague, Oklahoma and a brother Leonard Hale and his wife Louise of Shawnee, Oklahoma survive Evelyn. Her parents and a brother Leon Hale preceded her in death. Graveside services are planned for Monday, June 7, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cummings Cemetery at Maud, Oklahoma. Rev.
